Eleven transformations for a single text column: trim whitespace, switch case, capitalize words, add a prefix or suffix, pad with leading or trailing zeros, strip everything except digits, pull out email addresses, or remove special characters.
Zero padding is what most people arrive looking for. A US zip code column that passed through Excel loses its leading zeros, so 02134 becomes 2134; pad left to five and the file is valid again. Extract numbers only does the equivalent job on phone or SKU fields cluttered with spaces and dashes.
Choose the column, choose a transform, supply the parameter if one is needed, and apply. Only the selected column changes; every other column passes through untouched.
